National BP Rescue of the Month WINNERS – WAIHI BEACH LGS.
Were absolutely delighted to share with our members and supporters that Waihi Beach LGS has won the Surf Life Saving New Zealand National Award for BP Rescue of the Month – February.
This was for the rescue of a victim who had a stroke whilst surfing at the northern end of Waihi Beach, near the surf club.

We would like to share our congratulations, and heartfelt thanks to all of our guards involved in this incident, saving this mans life.
The recognition is not why we do what we do, but it really makes it all feel extremely worthwhile knowing the positive impact lifeguards can have on both an individuals life, but also the family around that person.
Were so, so proud of our Waihi Beach lifeguards involved in this incident last week. They executed the situation perfectly and put all the training that we do into use.
